Privacy

Monospaced is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice, and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

What we collect, and why

Email enquiries. If you email us, we hold your name, email address and the contents of your correspondence. We use this to respond to you and, where relevant, to manage a working relationship. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and conducting business; where an enquiry leads to work, we also process information as necessary to enter into and perform a contract. We review stored correspondence at least once a year: enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within two years, and correspondence connected to client work is kept for the duration of the relationship and up to six years afterwards, in line with legal and accounting requirements. Email is hosted by Google Workspace, which processes correspondence on our behalf.

Server logs. This site is hosted by Netlify, which collects standard access logs — including visitors' IP addresses — for a limited period, for security and operational purposes. Netlify processes this data on our behalf under its data processing agreement. Netlify is a US company; transfers are safeguarded under its DPA.

That's all. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone else, and we collect nothing beyond the two categories above.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or request deletion of your personal data, to object to or restrict our processing of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email scott@monospaced.com. You also have the right to complain to the ICO.
